Alice was walking by at the moment. She stopped, listening a moment, then walked over to her.

"What are you doing?"

"Attempting to hum a tune," replied Seikou as she let a little bird flutter onto her finger, gazing it at with her usual bland expression.

"So far it has been unsuccessful."

"Hmm." She usually didn't hum to herself: it actually was something that reminded her of that other Alice and those Princesses. Still, she gave a shot.

The hum was quiet at first, but robust and high. She didn't expect any birds to go flopping into her: she'd likely lost that ability years ago.

Seikou listened quietly to Alice's humming. It carried that ache of pain, emotion, and other such things. Things that sort of made Seikou envious.

"It is a nice tune," said Seikou, letting the bird flit away to join with the rest of them.
