I HATE EVERYTHING I WRITE. WHY SO CLUNKY, SENTENCE STRUCTURE?? WHERE ARE YOU HIDING, INTERESTING ADJECTIVES? UNUSUAL YET APPROPRIATE DESCRIPTIVENESS??  NATURALISTIC CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT???

Well, Lots of people love what you write.
Sometimes a story can be told just as effectively with simple words/phrases. There can be a tendency to try to be too clever and, almost, literally miss the plot.
Hope the rant helped. I loved the picture.
