Chapter Eight
It was Friday and this was Kame’s last day in the Marketing department.
“Alright!” Kame smiled encouragingly at the younger man. “That’s exactly how you should file it.”
“Senpai... I... don’t think I can do this alone starting next week.” It was the small whine on Yuya’s voice that made Kame smile.
“None sense!” The older man disagreed. “I’m sure you can do it. You actually got every little thing I taught you in one go and I didn’t have to repeat myself.” He grinned affectionately at Yuya.
Yuya blushed and Kame couldn’t help but pinch the boy’s cheeks. “Kawai~!”
The blush grew bigger and without the two noticing, Aki crept up to them.
“What are you doing?” he whispered to Kame’s ears.
Kame almost had a coronary because of Aki.
The oldest of the three laughed heartily. “You should have seen the look on your face, Kazuya-SENPAI!” he teased his soon to be ex-secretary.
“Mou~” Kame pouted jokingly at his friend slash boss. “You know not to creep up to me like that!”
Yuya observed the exchange with a soft smile on his face. He couldn’t believe his new boss would be this outgoing with his subordinates... maybe he will be comfortable here more than he will ever be in Advertising.
“So!” Aki chirped. “Have you eaten lunch?”
Kame gave Yuya a secretive wink. “Yeah, we have.”
Aki’s eyes widened in disbelief. “You went to lunch without me?!” he roared.
“Well, you had a deadline to meet so we didn’t want to bother you.” Kame tried to repress his smile. “You know I hate deadlines with your brother so we went to lunch without you...” he grinned. “ Or not!” he laughed seeing incredulity on Aki’s face. “Baka~ why would we go to lunch first?”
“I don’t know... maybe because you’re a glutton?” Aki shot back. “Don’t teach Yuya here your bad parts! I don’t want my new secretary picking up evil habits from you!”
Kame grinned widely. “Too late~! Ne, Yuya-kun?” he turned to the youngest who looked confused whether to agree or not.
Another wink from his senpai and he nodded remorsefully at Aki. “Um... you’re too late, sir.” He gave a hesitant v-sign to his boss.
“Hmmp.” Aki placed his arms in akimbo, knowing he’d been had by Kame. “You’re both paying for my lunch!” he turned to go back to his enclosed office. “I’ll just grab my jacket. Hmm~ where are we eating?” he was saying in singsong.
Kame, without Aki seeing it of course, playfully held his tongue out and Yuya gave out a soft giggle. Kame turned to Yuya with a smile. “Don’t hesitate to tease him sometimes.” He advised. “Especially when he’s on a deadline because he sometimes gets... distracted with food.” He laughed.
Yuya nodded before he bowed his head as he hid a smile.
“Good!” Kame smirked at the direction of Aki’s office.
The phone rang and Yuya turned to Kame. “Um… your phone is ringing, Kamenashi-senpai.”
Kame laughed at the younger man. “Come Monday, it’s already your phone so why don’t you practice answering it?”
Yuya hesitantly picked the phone up. “...Marketing, good afternoon.” The quiet and shy boy nodded several times and gave out several sounds of agreement to whomever he was talking with.
“Meanie!” Aki teased as he got out of his office, trying to wear his suit jacket. “You’re making him answer the phone?”
Kame harrumphed. “I am not mean. This is hands on practice!”
Aki laughed. “I know, I know!” he grumbled. “And I was talking about you being mean to me, not to Yuya.”
“Shhh!” Kame hushed Aki. “Your voice is so loud.”
Aki continued to tease his subordinate and friend in a much lower volume after being shushed by Kame.
“Umm...” Yuya covered the mouthpiece. “It’s... Akanishi-sama.”
Aki comically pointed at himself.
“The older one.” Yuya smiled at his boss’ antics. “He wants to talk to Kamenashi-senpai.”
“Oh...” Kame scratched his head in subtle annoyance, one that only Aki could identify.
“Tell him Kame’s out.” Aki interrupted whatever Kame was about to say.
Yuya went ahead and told that to Jin. He covered the mouthpiece again before speaking. “Um... he heard you and Kamenashi-senpai talking.” Yuya informed them in almost a whisper. “He insists to talk to him now.” He cleared his throat before continuing. “He also... wants to say to his cute little brother it’s no use hiding Kamenashi-kun.”
Aki gave out a groan while Kame heaved a sigh and took the phone receiver. “I’ll take the call.” He said with finality and glared when Aki whined and sulked. “Now!” he covered the mouthpiece. “Yuya hasn’t taken any break since he came in this morning.”
Yuya looked sullen while Aki looked aghast. “You haven’t?”
The youngest of the three shook his head.
“You stupid boy!” Aki proceeded to drag the surprised boy out of the office. “We’ll be at the usual place!” he called out.
Kame shook his head and answered the call. “Marketing, Kamenashi speaking.”
“Took you long enough to answer the phone.” Jin’s cold voice almost gave Kame goosebumps. “You were not flirting with Akihiko, were you?”
“Excuse me?” it took all of Kame’s self-control not to shout at the big boss.
“Never mind.” He heard Jin sigh. “Turn around.”
“What?” Kame was baffled.
“I said, turn around!” Jin repeated, annoyance clearly showing on his voice. “Can’t you understand simple instructions?”
“As you wish.” Kame grunted and turned...
Only to stare at the person he was talking to at the phone.
Jin coolly cut the connection and raised his left eyebrow at Kame when the younger didn’t place the receiver back on its handle.
Kame hurriedly placed the receiver down and bowed politely at Jin. “What... brings you here, sir?” he asked in mock politeness.
“I own the place, why shouldn’t I be here?”
“Um...”
“Forget it. I came by to inform you we have a business conference to attend starting Monday.” Still with that arrogant voice, he continued. “In Hawaii. You have a passport, don’t you? Pack clothes for a three-day trip.”
“Uh... in Hawaii, sir?” Kame asked, dumbfounded. “I... do have a passport but... I don’t think I can come and stay in Hawaii for three days...”
“And why is that?”
“Personal reasons that I believe I don’t have to reveal to you sir.”
“Well, you have no choice but to come.” Jin haughtily said. “You ARE my secretary, Kamenashi-kun. You go, wherever I want you to go.” He turned and spoke authoritatively. “We’ll meet in my office at eight in the morning on Monday.” He was gone after that.
Kame groaned before leaving the office to go after Aki and Yuya.
