Title: Threading Through Uncertainty

Pairings: Akame, hinted JunDa

Disclaimers: they’re not mine even though I would have liked to own them.

Summary: An all-out-gay Kazuya Kamenashi and a closet case Jin Akanishi in a university where their fate would be sealed.

Chapter One

Tatchan calls me to wake me up every morning, so it was never a surprise when I heard my phone ring at exactly 6AM.

I groaned and picked the phone up, lest to make the older boy angry at me for not picking the phone up at the third ring. “Don’t you ever get tired waking me up every morning?!” I said sleepily.

“Don’t I ever?” Tatchan answered me back with a question. “Somebody needs to make sure you wake up. Plus I need you to drive me to school too.” He said cheekily. “So move your ass! I expect to see you in front of my house an hour from now.”

“Yes Ma’am!” I said, and hanged up, not bothering to wait for Tatchan’s reaction for being called a ‘Ma’am’.

I got out of bed and made my way to the bathroom and take my shower. After dressing myself up, I sauntered my way to the kitchen to see my mom preparing breakfast.

“Good morning, Kazu-chan.” She smiled at me while tossing the pancake in the pan. “Breakfast is ready, so take your seat.”

I smiled at her as I take my seat. “What time did you arrive?”

“I just arrived, honey.” She answered as she placed a plate of stacked pancake. “I’ll take at least four hours of sleep and go back to the hospital.” She said as she took her seat and ate her share of breakfast.

I nodded, “Don’t work too hard, mom.” I advised her. She’s really a workaholic nowadays!

“I won't~” she promised. “And eat faster. Or Tatchan will kill you for sure this time!” she laughed as she reminded me of this fact.

I ate faster and was chugging my daily dose of freshly squeezed orange juice and was out of the front door in a matter of minutes. “Bye Mom!” I shouted as I got into my car to go to Tatchan’s house.

Oh! I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Kazuya Kamenashi, and I just turned 18 years old. My family is composed of me and my mom and we have a happy household. My mom works for the Kitagawa Medical Hospital as the head nurse. She’s really into her job, as she always had been - so long as she doesn’t over work her self, I’ll let her be. Back to me! I’m also a college freshman in Johnny’s Institute and I’m gay.

Gay, not ‘happy-gay’ but gay, as in a ‘homosexual’ gay.

I came out last year, during my last year in Senior High school, and trust me - everybody took it bad except my closest friends, composed of Junno, Koki, Tatchan and Maru. Worse, all those of graduated from Johnny’s Academy are now studying in Johnny’s Institute… so school life isn’t as great as I could have had it due to some homophobes out to get me. But given the chance between taking it back and hiding it, I’d still be true to myself instead of hiding my sexuality - at least I’m happy!

I currently don’t have a boyfriend, seeing as nobody was ‘out’ yet… and the last relationship I’ve had didn’t go well as one could have wanted it. I really don’t care so long as I have my friends and mom with me.

Friends? I’ve mentioned them before. I’ve got Junno - who bears the sweetest smile ever and is secretly in love with Tatchan, Koki - with his very macho and tough image but a kind heart, Tatchan - a man bitch but I love him to death! He also fan boys over Gackt-sempai so he’s blind to Junno’s feeling over him, and Maru - the mother hen of the pack. We’re a tight knit, the five of us, and we’ve been together since childhood - seeing as our parents are really close friends, so we kind of took over their friendship too.

Enough of introductions, as I’ve already arrived in Tatchan’s house, with him glaring at me as he made his way over to my car.

We’ll have to continue this later. I sense foreboding, seeing my best friend with a scowl on his face. He opens the door of my black ’96 Toyota Camry (the car I inherited from my late dad) and closed it with a bang.

“Oi! Don’t abuse my baby!” I said, referring to the car, as I patted the steering wheel as if to console the poor car.

He turned to glare at me. “Don’t push it.” He said in a very commanding and scary tone. “I’m not in the mood this morning.”

But I was relentless. Probably the reason why he was such an asshole this morning is because of Gackt-sempai.

“How was your Gackt-hunting last night?” I teased him. He’s really a fan boy when he wants to be one.

His scowl grew and glared at me. “Do you even need to ask that?” he screeched.

“Hey, I was just asking. I heard from Junno you even asked him to come with you to the gig.”

“I did, and he didn’t even turn up.”

“Well, you couldn’t blame him really. This week is the midterms.” I said as I turned left. “We’re not like you, Tatchan - not all people are geniuses!”

“Well, I really don’t care if he turned up or not.”

‘Poor Junno’ I thought as I shrugged and drove in the school’s driveway.

“And I heard he’ll have a match next week… it’s gonna decide whether he gets the scholarship or not abroad.” I heard Tatchan mutter beside me. “You’ll be there to support him, won't you?”

I laughed a hollow one and answered.  “Why would I bother to?” I said bitterly. “It’s already over between him and me. He doesn’t need my support - he could get those with his best friends and sluts surrounding him. He can't even acknowledge that I exist in school.” I said, parking my car in my usual place. “Let’s stop talking about him.”

“But he’ll be really happy once he saw you out in the field while he’s playing.” Tatchan insisted.

“Drop it. I don’t wanna talk about him. We’re over. I couldn’t care less whether he gets the scholarship or not.”

“I still think you two could still work your relationship out.”

“What relationship?!” my voice rose a few notches. “A relationship based solely on fleeting touches and quickies in the bathroom?” I laughed sarcastically. “I didn’t know that was your idea of a ‘relationship’, Tatchan.”

“We’ll talk about this. Sooner or later we need to talk about this.” Tatchan said while shrugging as we both got out of my car. “You’ll meet us in the cafeteria during lunch, right?” I could tell Tatchan wanted to confirm that with me. I just nodded to silence him because I really don’t have appetite whenever I’m in school. And we went off to our own faculties. Oh I forgot to mention, Tatchan’s in Music, Junno’s in Education, Koki’s in Veterinary Med, Maru’s in Literature and I’m in Engineering.

Now, where was I? Right, I was on my way to my faculty. I made my way to the steps leading out of the parking lot, and into the soccer field where I saw him with his friends, playing with a soccer ball.

As much as I would have wanted to stop staring at him, I couldn’t take my eyes off of his athletic build. He was smiling happily at Yamashita Tomohisa, his best friend while the other was pointing at their other best friend, Nishikido Ryo.

-> On to Chapter Two <-

-----

A/N: Yeah, another series - because I couldn’t write anything for all the ongoing ones I’ve got. And I thank isomethyl for titling this series (which I think she gave me as a joke but I really liked it).

And with regards to the poll, I thank all the people who took their time to answer it. I was really surprised that No Room for Silence took the spot that most people wanted to be updated regularly. =) I totally didn’t expect that because if we base it on the number of people who commented, the most would really be ‘Til Death Do Us Part?’ which was the second favorite. I guess that’s the effect of ‘Breaking Boundaries’, ne?

So how did you like this series? Intriguing? Or are you all angry because I started another one? *laughs* Well, I can’t help myself - it’s either I couldn’t write for the ongoing series and stay depressed because I couldn’t write anything, OR write something new. XD

As always, comments are REALLLY loved! Hope you leave one if you have time. =)
