Chapter Six

Ryuu raised his eyebrow when he saw his twin dragging Yuya from the direction of the lake.

‘What could the idiot do to Yuya boy now?!’ Ryuu asked to himself, as he started to move his way to where the two boys were, when his Uncle Pi stopped him.

“Let’s see what he’s gonna do.” Pi said.

Huh?

“Unc, Yuya could get hurt,” he warned the older man. “We don’t know what Hayato is up to these days.”

Pi laughed. “Then we’ll back Yuya up once we see Hayato beating him up or something!”

‘Really mature Pi-chan.’ Ryuu shook his head and waited by the sidelines.

But ready to strike if needed.

-----

Hayato halted into a stop, and plopped Yuya into a seat.

“So,” Hayato said, arranging it so that Yuya was forced to face him.

“So? Can we go back to them?” he pointed at the family preparing the food. “Maybe they'll need us for something.”

“No, that’s okay. They got Kazu-jichan anyway. He can handle that all by himself.” Hayato said nonchalantly. “Anyways, tell me about your girlfriend, or was that a boyfriend?”

Yuya threw the older boy a confused look. He really didn’t get all these questions the other was asking him.

“Huh? What’s in it for you, anyway?” he decided to get defensive. “Whether I’ve got one or not.” He clarified.

“Nothing. I’m just curious.” The other threw him a hurt look. “You should be grateful I’m paying attention to your love life.”

“Well I’m not. Get off of my case.” Yuya said, rolling his eyes upwards.

“Alright, no need to get livid!” Hayato shrugged. But after a few moments of silence, “Ne, come on! Spill!” he said giddily, tapping Yuya in the forehead, eager to hear the sordid details of Yuya’s ‘love life’.

Yuya rolls his eyes upwards and was about to retort something but his uncle Pi beat him into it.

“Oi! Time to eat!” Yamapi called the two boys over, motioning for them to come over.

The two walked back to where the family was, and Pi motioned for them to walk faster.

As soon as they got there, Ryuu handed Yuya a plate and spoon and fork. Hayato’s mouth was in agape when his twin didn’t hand one over to him.

“You’re a big boy, niichan. Get your own plate.” Ryuu said, while the older looked disdainfully at him.

Yuya was afraid Hayato would blow up and tried to hand the plate, which was given by Ryuu, to Hayato.

“Thanks,” Hayato smiled sweetly at Yuya, and was about to get the plate when Ryuu intervened.

“Niichan… just try and get that. And you’ll really get it from me!” Ryuu said warningly. “And you!” he turned to Yuya, a bit annoyed. “We had an agreement awhile ago, remember? So don’t try and please him like that. He’s just being lazy. Come on, let’s get something to eat.”

This time, it was Ryuu who was dragging Yuya to the table where their food is served.

The adults tried not to laugh out loud when they saw Hayato sputtering, unable to snap at Ryuu as he can never win any argument with Ryuu anyways.

Yuya was not sure whom to be afraid at - Ryuu who’s very protective and snappy or Hayato whose mood swings beat that of a pregnant lady.

“Do we understand each other?” Ryuu confirmed.

“Hai~” was all Yuya could say.

Ryuu didn’t let Yuya get close to Hayato for the remainder of the day.

-----

Everybody decided to go home around 4PM.

Yuya felt tired due to Hayato trying to have a conversation with him, and Ryuu dragging him away from the older twin every time that happens. And it happened a LOT of times.

“We apologize for Hayato’s behavior.” Hiro mumbled. “He’s wasn’t like that when he was younger.” His adopted uncle sadly said. “He was actually a very sweet boy!” he smiled, reminiscing the old days. “Ne,” Hiro turned to Yamapi. “Can you remember that day when Hayato tried to cook breakfast for Kazu, claiming that it was ‘Mother’s Day’ and he wanted to really surprise him?”

Yamapi laughed. “Yeah, that was a disaster. He didn’t even ask for Ryuu’s help with preparing the food.” He smiled and frowned at Hiro. “Can we stop talking about the old times? It makes me feel REAALLLY old!” he whined when Hiro snickered.

“You’ll never be old, Pi-chan.”

Yuya just had to smile with the ongoing conversation. It seemed that everybody is apologizing for Hayato, except for the boy himself. ‘Well, he did. But he wasn’t apologetic enough.’ He thought to himself.

And if the couple didn’t stop saying lovey dovey things right now, he might puke!

“Anyways, don’t worry about Hayato, ok?” His uncle said to him, probably noticing his discomfort. “Hayato can’t hurt you. Especially if Ryuu’s around.” The older of the two men, laughingly said.

Yuya just shook his head. “I was really not worried about him at all! Ryuu and I can handle him. Well… Ryuu CAN even without my help. Let’s just leave this subject, okay?”

Yamapi nodded, and Hiro was about to protest, about to say something, when he stopped with Yamapi’s meaningful look. And the younger of the two dropped the subject all together.

“Rest well Yuya-kun. Tomorrow is a Sunday but take it easy, okay?” Hiro reminded as the van stopped by Yuya’s house.

“Hai, hai! See you around, uncles.” And he got out of the vehicle.

-----

Hayato and Ryuu didn’t talk much during the trip and their parents were worrying over that fact. Until Hayato fell asleep, listening to his iPod.

Jin turned his attention to Ryuu, and mouthed, “Is Hayato ok?”

Ryuu frowned at his jichan and mouthed back. “Of course he’s not okay. He’s pissed off because he doesn’t have anybody to bully now.”

"Are you sure that's a good idea, Ryuu-chan?" Kazuya asked from the passenger seat.

"What good idea?" Jin asked.

"The idea to keep Yuya away from Hayato." Kazuya sighed.

"Yeah, it's the best recourse for this situation." Ryuu answered. "Don't worry - I can handle him if he goes overboard." Ryuu reassured his parents.

"If you say so." was all Kazuya could say.

A/N: Sorry for not updating this series for so long~! I was really busy with work -as what it says in my previous posts- and the other fics I suddenly started out of whim. I decided to update this now because a lot of people are poking me to update it. You know who you are right? ;P I hope you liked it. My plot bunnies left me for this universe so I had a hard time writing it on my own. *cries* and now I’m a bit afraid that it won’t fit to your liking.

Anyways!! As always, comments are LOVED.
