Reading Emily Dickinson in the Dark

For wildestranger who understands these poets much better than I.
Partly inspired by the painting by celstialsoda (see icon).

This is what comes of having shelved philosophy books at work.

I think this was lovely... *peeks around to make sure no one's listening* and I really don't like Dickenson's poetry Wonderful job - so touching.

thanks, if you still liked it even with the poet you don't like, then :)

Yeah, I phrased that really badly...

I love this story; it was deep, touching and thought-provoking for me DESPITE the fact that I do not like the poet (er, at all). So definitely the intent was to create ^__^s. *g*

Hola! Sorry it took me a while to sit down and find the time to read it, but this fic is really... insightful. I guess, JKR really didn't talk about the aftermath of Sirius's death, the reactions that any of the characters had other than Dumbledore and Harry, and I guess Tonks. But this is fascinating to me. I imagine Lupin did have a couple of rocky months after that... Wonderful peice :D

the aftermath of Sirius's death
exactly! It's so important to try to work out what that might be, hmm..

yeah... There are just so many sides to it. I think a neat sort of fiction would be a Hermione/Ron fiction, where the two of them look back on Sirius' death and .. I know JKR paid no attention to this, but I guess that's what makes it interesting, what Ron and Hermione's relationship to Sirius was, and how they worried about Harry...

I thought this was a beautiful piece, and very effectively conveyed both Remus's thought processes and the essence of Sirius's character. Your interpretation of Remus is interesting; he comes across as very analytical, reserved and cynical and not quite able to express his emotional response to the situation.

gosh, thanks, It is so interesting to me to see how much of the jumbled emotions and anaylsis in my head comes across in these bits of exploration of the characters.
