The latest submission's have Jeanty's alternative cover for Issue 9 of the Faith arc.

Quite like the first one , quite a good likeness. But had seen that already.

What can I say about the 2nd , now I know it might be meant to be stylised but.

How bad is that.

LOL likenesses completely off ( Read more... )

Well to the end of the arc as previously mentioned although stopping work in London may put a crimp in that.

I increasingly don't get the choice of Jeanty he just seems consistently bad. Chen is growing on me.

Thing is he's approving the art, so however bad they look, he's coming up with the ideas.

Was that final artwork? It looked more like a concept sketch. Yeah, pretty bad, but I have to say it was quite funny.

Not too sure.

I think it might be deliberatly stylished as a shout to the comics of the time as well as a shout out to Emma Peel. I think if Chen had done a version of that It would be a great cover. If only for visualising ED and ASH doing that.:-)

I really have to ask. Is there something about Eliza's face that has made comic artists, doll makers and everyone else who have ever tried completely UNABLE to catch her likeness?

The fist one is fine. But this new one blows.

And tries to be all light hearted when the relationship between Giles and her is anything but teamwork or friendship in these so far.

I think there might be something about Eliza as a lot of the merchandise does not seem to be a good likeness.

The light hearted riff is at odds with the arc but then I thought Chen's Willow was too Season 6. I think this is more a case of another wouldn't this be cool moments to drew the obvious comparison. I think it would actually have worked on TV but Jeanty again drops the ball.

I thought the Giles likeness wasn't too bad; Faith was terrible, although the first cover makes up for that. Although I've been mostly satisfied with the art, except for the cover they just can't seem to get Faith right.

I've seen the ludicrous suggestion made that she is drawn ugly as she is feeling ugly. Which would be believable if his likeness for all the other characters were not so bad. Is Buffy getting younger each issue?

I just think he is bad. The idea for the cover is not bad if a bit obvious and stereotyped but he misfires too much. Although one positvie I've seen written is that the crap art distracts attention from the writing.

Character artwork as a reflection of inner conflict? I suppose it's been done, but I don't believe it in this case. As for me, when it comes to comic characters based on real people, I prefer them to look as true to life as possible.

How can you not like the Avengers?

Quite easily.:-)

It's quaint, camp, badly written and actually really old fashioned. Not a great fan of the whole 60's thing. I also don't like the Prisoner which imho is massively overated.

Now I know its massively influential but just never liked it.
