When it happened it was always the same. It didn’t matter if he was shot, stabbed, electrocuted or thrown off a building, it was the same.
A moment of sharp pain, filling him and almost blinding, and then darkness. Numb blackness, seeping into every part of him.
The vast dark, empty except for when something moved. He heard his name, whispered into his mind, and he’d feel something come closer.
And then, unlike anyone else in the world, he’d open his eyes and climb to his feet; sore and stiff, but with the knowledge he’d heal. Again. Always the same.

She tried to ignore the images in the mirror. The ones that didn’t move quite in time with her body, and seemed to smile at her when she wasn’t smiling back.

When Jessica looked back from the glass, she’d smirk and shake her head in disgust. Niki. So weak. So pathetic. Can’t keep herself safe, let alone her child. She needs Jessica’s help; without her Niki would fall apart.
Niki kept ignoring the mirror, pretending nothing was wrong. Until the day she woke up to the bodies in her garage. Then she couldn’t pretend anymore.

When she had a seizure, she lied. Passed it off as nothing if anyone noticed there was a problem.

Spoilers: Ummm, first 2-3 episodes? They so blurred when I marathoned the.
The feeling of flying was like… Nothing else, if he was honest. The wind rushing past him, and the ground disappearing at an amazing rate. Breathtaking.
He’d flown through low clouds, but he wondered, if he tried hard enough, if he could reach others, higher up. How high could he go? High enough to drift through thick, white clouds in freezing, thin air? Higher?
No. He had to keep his feet on the ground. Running for office was too important; his family was too important.
So he’d forget it. He couldn’t risk it.
And for Peter’s sake, he’d ground him, too.
