If it really pisses you off just tell them. When I first moved into my house everyone called me Kaitlyn because that's what the name tag on my door said. I didn't tell them until a week or so later that I preferred Kate because hearing everyone call me Kaitlyn REALLY started to get on my nerves lol. Same deal at work.

I was going to whine about how you people whose familiar names are a prefix (at least phonectically) of your legal names have it easy because sometimes people catch on, For example, Dan's coworkers asked if he preferred Dan or Daniel, but I guess its not that much better. I tend to do the opposite, truncating people's names whether or not they like it.

Tomorrow you should definetly tell everyone , "Please, call me Tess(a)" espesially if it weirds you out. It won't make a fun co-op term otherwise.
