Oh. So incredibly lovely and...not delicate, but hesitant? Maybe hesitant. But brave, too. Like both of them. The way they grok each other, but have to take a breath and let the other one know. Wow.
all awkward knees and elbows colliding until he was lying with his cold hands fisted in Xander's thermal shirt I think this is probably one of the best O/X images I've ever come across. Just physically & emotionally so spot-on.
He thinks he smells joy. As a line on its own, this is beautiful. As a closer? It goes right to the gut and the heart, and I love it.
Damn, D. You just, like, get Oz and Xander and spin these beautiful light tapestries from them and I'm in awe. Swept away and gaping and so very happy.
This was fantastic and then I say, "Great, another talented writer for me to start obsessing over."
I really enjoyed this. Xander and Oz are very plausible to me. I think anyone could fall for either one of them because they're both so odd, yet adorable.
I wish you'd pick this up a few months or a couple of years down the road, so we could see how things worked out for them. Maybe Spike could see them at a club somewhere and decide not to tell Buffy and Willow about it.
Just tell me where it is, and I'll go read it. I don't think I have because neither your moniker nor hers rings a bell with me. I want to read it, most definitely.
My LJ is pretty evenly divided between "Notes from the Defense",which are rants about my law practice, "Lunch with P." which details true stories from a family I know, and a het OC WIP, "Sunnydale Wholesale Beauty Supply."
Somehow, when you were describing Xander coming home, I had a flash of him being played by a young Marlon Brando. Specifically, A Streetcar Named Desire-Marlon. It was nice, let me tell you.
You know, I just realized I never send you any feedback for this. It is lovely. Loved the little details like the Florida-shaped pizza sauce stain and Oz falling asleep wrapped in the old afghan.
His face is in Oz's hair, and Oz is still trembling, but not from the cold.
I think the great beauty of your Oz is that you are brave enough to let him be vulnerable like this, and it makes him so very real. Thanks for praising my Xander, BTW. You did this all on your own, though, and the praise is well-deserved.

The Xander/Oz combination was perfect, the dialogue spot~on! I could see them together, in the basement.
Perfect.
