This is marvelously beautiful. I've been following this series on MinusWave and am positively ecstatic to see it here on LJ. And to make it even more meaningful, I've read bits of the text you're referencing, so I even know who Arjuna and Krishna are. I would have to quote this whole story to describe what I liked about it, but suffice to say that the details are impossibly beautiful.

Ah, thank you so much! ^___^
I'm glad you've read the Bhagavad-Gita, because it's lovely on its own, and the fic does make a bit more sense if you have some knowledge of it... or maybe not, since Tenpou willfully reinterprets it. Knowing a bit of Chinese myth helps as well, to know that when a human becomes an immortal they often ride a dragon to heaven... but it isn't necessary, I suppose... *realizes she's babbling much like Tenpou*
Thanks so much again!

Very beautiful. The flow of your words was like a song. It appears I am going to have to hunt down the rest of your series.

I have to admit that I was really touched by this line.

"But Tenpou still remembered it all, for Tenpou had been Awake."

It so amazing to realize how much of our lives we spend - not awake. And the realization when you are is so wondrous. Awake and alive.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece. ^_^

Glad you enjoyed it! And I hope you enjoy the series if you choose to read it- you'll probably notice my writing improves a bit with each story, as the whole thing starts with the second fic I ever wrote. *blushes a bit*

And I totally agree on being Awake- obviously, since I put it in the story. ^_~ But I think that's what I find so refreshing about zen philosophy, it's emphasis on Mindfulness in daily life. How simply being in the moment changes that moment into something wondrous. It's something I think they have precious little of in Tenkai, even worse than here Down Below.

This whole thing is just soaked in beautiful images and gorgeous language, but I think that the second paragraph is one of the most amazing descriptions I've ever read.

I...uh...*twitch*...oof...wow.

It's been a trying week for me, and in the presence of this wonderful fic, the above comment is, unfortunately, about all I can manage. You have broken my brain -- in a fantastic way, to be sure.

*passes over some brain glue* Trying week? Worse than talking with Kuang at the banquet? Ouch! Hope the glue helps!

*stares blankly at brain glue*

I dunno, I kinda like being broked. XD

And if it's any indication as to how craptacular the last few days have been, talking to Kuang has actually been one of the highlights. *head desk*
