I've been liking Walking Dead less and less the past couple seasons, but this season? I'm loving it again. I think I like the changes in the group... or at least they make for interesting viewing. I don't like what Carol did with the kid, but I understand it and it's good TV. I'll be really, really interested to see how the story goes if our group takes over. I'm hoping they do.
[The Walking Dead spoilers]I don't 'like' it, but it made sense for what Carol's become. From a storytelling perspective, I am so damn gleeful watching her immediately pull the fake persona of her previous, housewife self over the person who killed two plague victims in order to save the rest of the group, then survived on her own for who knows how long after Rick kicked her out of the group, then single-handedly liberated that same group from Terminus. She should be able to do that, she used to use the same persona to hide her abuse.
But she's still got that ruthless streak, and it came out when that kid threatened their plans. It was utterly terrifying, which is exactly what needed to happen to make sure that he kept his mouth shut.
I'm really torn about the idea of our group taking over. I really like Deanna. I like Aaron. Right now, we have a place that has survived in the zombie apocalypse for almost two years; no matter how 'weak' our group thinks they are, they've survived. I think they should be giving them the benefit of the doubt and trying to work
( ... )
[Probably spoilers.] Good point about the "weak" group having survived that long. I had chalked it up to them just being lucky, but it seems more realistic that they're doing something right instead of just dumb luck.
I'm with you, I really, really like Deanna and Aaron as well.
I loved Carol's act too. When she was fumbling off her big gun to hand it over, and ended up spending long moments with it pointing right at the woman, and that woman didn't even blink? I started grinning (when not cringing, because gun pointed at someone arg don't do that!).
