Well, when your posting an entry you put your title: etc. Then you take a couple of lines down and you see the line with all the icons at the top but under the Subect box? Well there's an lj-cut icon there, it looks like a bit of a paragraph you's get with a sugily line under it.
Or... Seing as you post things on Fanfiction.net you could always use a link to your work there, in which case you would copy the URL from your fic on ff.net and then copy it a couplke of lines under your title: etc. then seeing as it's on the Rich Text Format, change it to the HTML code, you should get this:
http://www.livejournal.com/update.bmlWhere it says http:// etc. for a second time delete that part and put what you like... then you hould have a link to the fic on ff.net... if you need more help on the links... well i'll give you on to when i asked
