No, this one is stuck because I came back from vacation rather depressed and wasn't writing anything (or doing much of anything else) for a bit. I'm shaking myself out of that mode, and easing myself back in to writing.
However, it occurs to me that what you've offered might be helpful regarding Unlikely Allies--maybe someone else looking at the unposted chapters would be beneficial. The problem there is really, what story am I writing? I've got these chapters on Severus's actions already mostly written, but now Harry's at Hogwarts the story seems to want to turn into HP & his friends, like canon. So either I need to wrench it back on track to Harry-and-Severus (and how are they going to defeat Dumble's machinations as well as Tom), or abandon what I'd written and go in the new direction.
I am now watching the third (and so far the last, alas) season of Continuum.
If anyone wants to see an example of what Gryffindor terrorists might be like, Liber8 and their mentor Theseus are pretty much it - bold, with Robin Hood image (especially in season 3) while brutal. They'd kill thousands of bystanders if that's what it takes to also kill their targets (corrupt corporation CEOs). And Alec 'I want to help people with my technology, by spying on their every move, even brain impulse' Sadler has so many similarities to Albus, both when we see him in his late teens and in his 80s. With the difference that old Sadler comes to regret the way he influenced history and tries to set things right - but can he?
So sad that there are no signs of season 4 yet. If it gets canceled I will never know if humanity can be saved from corrupt corporations and total loss of privacy.
I know nothing about this TV show, but if you want to know whether humanity can be saved from corrupt corporations and total loss of privacy, you just have to keep on living in the real world. Yes, we'll survive, but will we want to?
Sorry. Thirty-six hours of migraines and my cynicism really kicks in.
Well, yes, this show uses current controversial topics and speculates where they might take us by 2077. One of the corporations in the show is named an anagram of Monsanto.
He could, if he wanted to, give Abby a more accurate idea of his situation by saying that he's been an IRA man. He's been out of the Muggle world for long enough that he might not think of that, but really his story is a parable about the IRA and other British terrorist organisations.
