Wouldn't your collective expectation be above the $100/day? Or was is just the fact that the cost was so much higher that made it an issue?

Our collective expectation is higher (hell our individual expectation is certainly higher), but it's not like we can't play online poker instead. It's a marginal cost thing, not an absolute cost thing.

I was another "via Paradise Road please" person in the days that I stayed Downtown. I found that the drivers were v unhappy about the matter coming from the airport, but didn't seem to mind so much when going back from Hotel to the airport. But the sample size was small.

When driving yourself with a hire car, Paraidse Road is a must for any hotel on one side of the strip (east), but it's more even-steven for those on the west side, depending on the time that you land. 5pm-ish, perhaps the Freeway is better. Downtown, Paradise Road wins every time.

Of course, if you are staying at the San Remo (Hooter's) it should be possible just to walk from the plane, if only you didn't have to go through the Airport building first....

Sorry we didn't have any overlapping awake periods, but I had to leave when I did to hit the scheduling trifecta of brunch in Vegas, dinner in Bakersfield, and home around midnight.
