Wrapping up 2013...

Dec 31, 2013 22:58

HAPPY NEW YEAR, all of you wonderful and crazy people!!!

It has been an insane year, and while it was definitely frustrating, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. In fact, I think I ended up on top overall, and I'm very curious what 2014 has in store.

To go into greater detail... )

Sounds like things have been going well!

I am *very* excited about Sherlock. I just recently got into it, so I didn't have to wait ages like most of the fans did, but I adore it. I've also just been watching Dr. Who, so I can appreciate the music. I'm on the last Tennant season and I'm dragging my heels because I don't want to lose him as the Dr. just yet.

It would be so much fun to go to a geeky symphony like that! I know there was one touring for a while that was all Zelda music, I would have loved to see that. I like that idea, getting out and doing things on your own.

I'm glad Skid is still doing well! He's a handsome boy (but aren't they all?).

Anyway, happy new year! :)

All in all, I can't complain too much. More so, I think things are going in the correct direction, which is a good thing.

I curse The Hobbit for delaying season three of Sherlock. I also curse BBC America for somehow not getting the rights to play it in America, so I have to wait until PBS does it later this month. I don't download episodes anymore, mostly because the laptop is slowly dying and it'd be painful to watch.

One day, I really want to see the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds performance. The music is gorgeous! I highly suggest looking into your local symphony. You may be pleasantly surprised at what performances they have. I was very surprised with the options I have here.

Haha, Skid is a bastard, but I love him so.

Happy 2014 to you, too!

i'm happy to hear that things have been more good than bad :) always nice when the scales tip a little more towards the positive! I hope that the coming year brings some inspiration for you and that things continue to tip the scales towards the positive :)

I'm soooo happy about Sherlock (i'm assuming you mean BBC sherlock?)! I remember going through proxy servers to watch it off of the UK's BBC website when it first premiered years back and being sooo impatient for the second three parter (season 2...though in my head I've never been able to call a 3 episode mini-series a season....) that got delayed, lol :) i'm happy that others find it as enjoyable as I do.

Skid is adorable :) I've always wanted a cat, but alas there are people around me who are allergic. Happy to hear Skid's fighting the good fight :)

Things are definitely tipping in the right direction. 2014 may prove to be even better if things continue this way. Now, if only I can find that inspiration, too!

Oh yes, BBC Sherlock all the way! Of all the other Sherlock versions right now, BBC Sherlock is killing them. The rhythm to the episodes, the oddity and genius of Sherlock's methods, and the relationship between him and Watson just have no comparison. I'm very excited for season three, but since I don't download episodes, I'll have to wait until PBS gets around to it (19th, I believe).

Heh, Skid is quite the bastard, but an adorable one, indeed. I hope he's around for years to come. :)

Skid is definitely living on borrowed time. When the vet first diagnosed him, she said that a decade ago they would recommend euthanizing the cat since they didn't have any treatments back then. Luckily, it turns out that the same beta blockers for humans works on cats, too.

Sadly, poor Skid has his annual visit this month. Last year, he actually hissed at me for taking him. Doubt he'll be happy about it this year, either.

Still, as long as he's hanging there then it's something.

things sound like they are going pretty darned good! I'm super glad to head from you and that you're doing well. :) i just recently read all of the dragon age books and i needed out pretty hard core over it. good times. sorry to hear you haven't been able to write anything, not feeling inspired enough definitely stinks. i haven't felt like painting in years now, i sit down with all my paints and then by the time I'm ready to start its, "meh, i'm done now." we'll all just have to be content with re-reading your many amazing stories. :) <3

All things considered, things are going well. I'm still trying to figure out how to make work better, but honestly, I have it pretty easy compared to most people.

Isn't it depressing when you think about the past and remember how easy it was to think up something creative and get to work on it? Hopefully I'll get back to writing, because I do enjoy it, but yeah, hard things are hard. :p

Best wishes from me to you from the Netherlands. Thank you for all the stories you've written in the past. And hopefully the muses will pay you a visit in the future, because YOU ROCK!

Stellar

Haha, thank you so much! I truly enjoy writing, but yeah, the muses have escaped me. I think I've been too stressed out with work and other life things to focus on any kind of story. One day, I imagine a story will attack and not let go, but I can't say when that will happen. Alas.
