I'm so sorry. :/ It's always hard when pets get sick because we never know what's really going on. But it's obvious you care about him and you're a great owner - you're doing all you can for now. :) Just give him lots of loves!
That, and not being able to tell the little guy what is happening sucks, too. I think he's caught on to the fact that I'm slipping his meds into his food. He looks at me and meows in a pathetic 'why~~?' type of way. ^^;
He's 2-yrs, so more like a resentful teenager than a baby. ;) Ever since the Valium, Skid hasn't been too excited about playing, but I get the sense that he's angry at me. Whenever moths are around, he's up and chasing them all over the house.
I posted pictures when I first got him and he hasn't really changed except for getting a bit bigger. That second pic is definitely the glare he throws me when he figures out there are meds in his food.
I'm so sorry about your kitty. I still say cats can surprise you, though, and he may hang in there and enjoy years of you spoiling him.
If my cats spent the night at the vets, they never ate for about 24-48 hours after they got home. I think it's just a travel adjusting things. A lot of cats detest traveling. Give him a little time.
I'm all for hoping that he proves everyone wrong and lives for years on end, but I also have to be realistic and prepared for the worst. It's how I am. ^^;
The brat actually did end up eating that food behind my back; it just took him longer than usual to care. I'm now thinking that it has more to do with the heat (been inching into the 90s lately) than his meds. But yeah, he's usually a pig when it comes to his food, vet or no vet. He ate the moment we got home after that procedure. This post came a couple days after that.
