Pool party + movie at Manisha's in 3.5 hours! :D *excited* It's a shame that I got my period yesterday morning though, grrrrreat timingAnyway, I'd like opinions. For my art dump, I'm thinking of having the main site in an LJ, instead of j.d-s.net because I have no idea how I will design pages for the individual artworks/pages (w/e), and even how I ( Read more... )

The lj would be a good idea, and you could keep the hosting and use it for something else if you like. Umm, if you need any help with lj templates, I can help you - I can customise just about every type. :X

Well, I'd still need you to host the actual works (if that's ok :x I owe you a lot, james ♥). I so need your help in the customisation bit :D'' just something with tables that aren't too "thin" so that no artwork would stretch the tables. I'm never good with those layouts with header images, but I'd love to have one :o I'll catch ya on msn and we'll work something out 8D

LOL. Ohhhh yeaaaah. XD I'm so used to hosting images at photobucket, I've forgotten that its not the only way. You don't owe me, its a pleasure hosting your art. I ♥ your drawings. I'll try catch you on MSN sometime during the week, hopefully. :X We're in the same time zone, not to mention state, it shouldn't be too hard. ^^

Hm... Stick-thinnness in the picture?

I'm not sure which would be good for the art dump. LJ memories aren't that hard to use though, but it does get annoying to fiddle with if you want to make any changes. Say, after you've added an entry to a category, I don't see a way to change the name of the category and keep those other entries there still... Only could make a new one and move the entries over. And then once all entries were out of the 'old category' it'd disappear.

Just a little gothic-looking style I wanted to experiment with 8D I've always wanted to find a way to make anime characters look... creepy.

As for the memories, I'm just planning to have 3 categories: Anime, Non-Anime, Misc. Those should cover just about every kind of thing I did. It's just which categories say, a CG anime artwork would fit in, that I'm still stumped. ;_;

Anime: Includes anime fanart, original anime-style drawings, etc
Non-anime: Includes scenery, animals, abstract, etc
Misc: dirty sketches (both Anime & Non-anime style) or unfinished works, one -time use medium experiments (??)

Or maybe I should just get rid of the 3rd category? :|

Another plan that I cooped up is to link all the entries to a main entry (dated year 3000 so it's always at top of the page). This way, If any category needs changing, it's easily done and no more worrying about memories. Or would that just create clutter? @_@

Category-wise, a set I used to use was:

Fanart: Anything game/anime/not-original.
Original Artworks: Anything created by myself.
Misc: For random sketches, ideas, incomplete stuff.

That covers all forms of 2D, 3D, CG, etc.

The dated year 3000 thing could work, but it could get annoying for other people -- since although the entry would always be on top in your journal, it'd also be the top entry on everyone else's Friends page. Although I think if you check the "backdated" or something box, it won't appear in your friends' Friends view (wow that sounds confusing) as a new entry. So you could just post normal entries with updates and link to the main entry or something. It'd stay as top entry in your journal view too.

But what if I made an original character in anime-style? This happens quite often :x

I tred on the test journal the date thing... it works. =)

New styles are OK to experiment with. :] But maybe you should have drawn the girl without a smile since the rest of the drawing seems to depict sadness (?).

Yeah the no-smile was the first thing I came up with, but I thought it looked too...dark. :| I thought that the smile would bring a little more 'normality' in the picture. Like Corpse Bride normal o.O
