FINALLY. IT'S LETTING ME REVIEW. I was going to do this last night but your story was so powerful that it kicked out my internet. ;) And then LJ was wonky. BUT NOW I CAN DO IT. MUAHA!

This. This is fabulous. You are a talented one, yes indeed. This is going to sound odd but I think my favorite scene is the one where they are communicating in Morse code. There's just such history and trust there and I think it perfectly encapsulates their relationship.

AND JIM. Heh, no, we don't need to hear any of that trolls experiences with leashes.

There's just something so very affectionate and friendly between them in this story. That's a very hard quality to write a lot of the time and you do it perfectly. Just very well done, lovely!

Aww thank you! I've been sitting on the Morse code idea since probably November so it's almost a relief to get it done. They both have the kind of old soul, regardless of age, that would know such a historical thing, especially in the future.

I was going to end it sooner but I just had to let Jim open his big mouth. xD

OW! on the fencing injury, though I admit that it's cool that you actually have an injury from something like FENCING. Put another way, way cooler than my knee problems from softball. So, hey, silver lining? : )

LOVE this piece, love the tension and love Taylor's reactions. And like sky_kiss, the tapping scene was my favorite - that she'd do it and he'd figure it out was perfect.

And foolish, foolish Lucas, not tying Wash's feet too. Just proves that book smart often does NOT equal street smart.

I also loved her ordering Reynolds to go back to sleep - and him following the order. Made me snort out loud.

A fencing injury sound so much more badass than the specific yet vague 'I wore out the tendons/ligaments or something.'

Thank you! Taylor's reactions were a lot of fun to write. And I love including random quirky moments like the Reynolds thing so I'm glad to hear that others enjoy it too.

That was great, loved it, the characters are well written and the Morse code idea is really creative, very military, very much them and no one has done it before- thanks for sharing, enjoyed it very much!

Absolutely fantastic! I love the story you weaved here, the way you employed all of the characters. The Morse code was an excellent addition, and I truly adored the ending. So hopeful, so full of unspoken love.

Thank you! I kind of added the ending out of guilt for not enough BAMFness. Sometimes the stories just run away with themselves.

I am sorry I'm so late, love. Now in case I forget, I have to dive into the middle and express my undying love for this line:

Wash's foot quietly tapped: F-U.

Because it is BRILLIANT and BAMFtastic and I grin ever time I read it :D

Lucas is a prat. Thank you so much for letting Wash get the drop on him and resuce her own damn self from his incompetent clutches (F-U indeed). Also love Jim's moral outrage on Mark's behalf (aww) and generally everyone being badasses in the name of their Lieutenant. And I love the ending. It's very professional but full of depth (actually, I love how much they communicate throughout this fic without saying very much) and promise :D Excellent job.

I understand not getting around to things as quickly as you would like. Happens to me all the time.

Can't lie I had such a feeling of snarky glee writing that line.

As nice as Taylor rescuing her with his muscly arms is it's also great for her to rescue herself sometimes. And I feel like Jim is one of those people who will tease or jokingly insult someone but will not stand for anyone else doing it. I'm so glad you liked the communicating but not talking so much bit. I'm not the overly emotionally expressive type in real life so writing declarations of love in fic can be tough. Thank goodness Wash and Taylor aren't that type either.
