Yeah, my Mom is one who weighed in with "you'll be able to eat anything you want," which is high praise for the worth of a medical procedure in my family.

That's hilarious...coffee and beer only make brief detours in mine. My Grandpa on my Mom's side used to tell folks, "I don't like beer. It tastes like they should have left it in the horse."

My mom's side of the family loved the beer. Much of the reason I don't drink much these days;)

In my experience it was a heck of a lot better without the gall bladder than getting an attack from nowhere......and I can eat onions!
