Re: dirty talk

Sometimes it's hot? Like, IRL, yeah, for sure, totally. When I'm reading it, I have to be either in the mood or it has to be really good, and it's really easy for it to stay into the drecky fanfictiony stuff you're talking about. Like, a story I read that I otherwise loved completely threw me out b/c of reference to his "hole", but honestly, what else do you call that? It's a difficult thing to do right. I personally don't plan on trying anytime soon, I have a hard enough time writing narration.

I think seeing it written out is the kicker; because I rarely read sexy-type dialogue with any sexy-type emphasis even in my in-head reading voice, so it's just like...a really ridiculous sentence in a regular voice and I just can't handle how silly it all looks. Also it's always the same thing, over and over and over. There's literally no imagination to dirty talk I've seen written, it's like people just take from a template and paste it all over their sex scene.

Haha, I agree, dirty talk can be fun in real life but it seldom translates well in written form. I think it's extremely difficult to adequately convey the spoken intensity and arousal between two people during sessions of sexy time. Tero, I completely agree about the in-head reading voice. Have you ever tried reading a piece of dirty talk out loud as if you were reading normally? It's hilarious.

Mikauk, I've read various stories that substitute the word "hole" with euphemisms that make me so uncomfortable I giggle nervously, clear my history and step away from the computer. Honestly, I think hole is the best and safest option, and under NO circumstances should the adjective "gaping" be used. Haha.
