I have to say that he is now one of my favourite authors. As an older reader, I particularly liked that the main characters weren't young, fir and gorgeous. I do hope you're going to continue with the second instalment, The Cold Commands, which I was completely enthralled by. If ever a universe should be made into a film it's this one. Good news is that the final book will be out next year.
I did buy the second one, so I'm looking forward to reading it! The only thing I wish is that the world was a bit more defined and clear, since everything did seem to muddle together except the alien/mythic races, but it was definitely quite interesting.
