The end of this made me smile. Perfect Keyd cuteness. I love it how he's this big tough prince warrior dude, but in private he's mostly just an adorable doof.
There are no words to describe how overjoyed I was to see this! I won't lie; I've been obsessively stalking your journal and tumblr for the past two weeks, hoping and praying for the next Skiagraphia update. But it was absolutely worth the wait. I'm so relieved that Keyd's all right (or seems to be, at least). I've been unhealthily worried about what was going to happen to him. :p
It really is obvious that you put so much thought into every little detail of your writing. And, as potatoe1988 said, you manage to describe even the most difficult things so well. I forget the real world exists when I'm reading this story, and genuinely do feel like I'm right there with Alan, experiencing and seeing everything that he does. I wish you could stop doubting your ability as a writer. You're amazing. :)
ahhh thank you so much! I'm glad it was worth the wait, because that was kind of a ridiculously long gap between updates! Especially with that terrible cliffhanger.
I'm really glad this part comes off as engaging too; it was probably the hardest part of this entire story to figure out how to get right and then to actually write, since it's so weird and abstract but still has to make enough sense as to what's going on. :)
Aw yisss so many feelings right now. In the first part I was scrolling down really slowly dreading that something bad was going to happen. I'm so happy that they're both alive and can finally share a moment of happiness (Although Keyd is probably gonna get shit from the other clars..Again) from all the stuff that just happened. Just perfect.
Aw thank you, I'm really glad you enjoyed it! And yeah. there's gonna be some trouble ahead! The next part will be much shorter and hopefully not take very long at all to get finished. :)
ONCE AGAIN, livejournal is like "hey, teromain posted about getting a new job! go read that post!" and I did, and it was a very nice post.
BUT DO I GET AN EMAIL ABOUT THIS? NO. NO I DO NOT.
Honestly, the only reason I even checked is because the LAST time you posted something (I think it was the clar alphabet post? which was awesome!) I was at a chili's eating the chicken bacon ranch quesadillas, and today I was at chili's eating the chicken bacon ranch quesadillas and thought "huh, wonder if Skiagraphia is up, I'll look on my phone."
LO AND BEHOLD.
It's okay, I hadn't bawled like a baby in the middle of a chili's in, like, weeks, so I needed it anyway. :D :D :D
so glad you posted this, for real, it was brilliant and wonderful and when you publish I am immediately buying all four books and when I get famous I'm giving you all the signal boosts.
That is SO WEIRD, I have no idea why LJ does that to you! :((( Literally the only difference between the posts is that one was x-posted from dreamwidth and one was not, but the one you GOT a notification for was the x-posted one, so that's clearly not the problem. Gosh, LJ, what's up. -_-
:3 my, I can't believe I missed this update when I was dying to know whether it worked. Oh Alan, you got lucky. Also I love the supporting characters in this story becausr they're complex personalities in their own respect and their personal stories also help enrich the story. Will Rysa ever get her own short story? :) i'd like to see a snapshot of her backstory and how she ended up partnered with Keyd.
Annnd now that they've survived, can't wait to see the political repercussions. Dundundun
