[[ Pretty Shade of Grey: epilogue ]]

Ending notes:Ughghghg thanks to everyone again who stuck with my slow, inconstant updates and the several-year hiatus and the really bad first few chapters and just how messy and sloggy and drafty this story is and I’m glad everyone likes it anyway! I promise I’m going to make it better for you later on. And I ( Read more... )

<3 Congratulations! That was a fantastic book, and I'm so glad it's finished! I can't wait for the next one, and I assure you that I will not dislike it. You write so well, I could probably like anything :P. Different can be good, I think ( ... )

Thank you~! I'm really glad it's finished too, after eight years! Even if it took a really ridiculously long time, it's really good I didn't finish it back in '05/'06. It would have been a way different story ( ... )

Sounds like it's going to be interesting :)

Another publishing company that I've had some luck with is Smashwords, but they don't edit the work that gets submitted to them, so I've come across some very poorly written books. They're not only slash, and they're also linked to amazon, but they have a pretty big selection. One thing I really enjoy about their browsing process is that they filter books by length, so you can find longer books if you feel like reading an epic. That's one thing that I dislike about Dreamspinner- their lack of filtering features; it's mostly just the length one, though.

What's your favorite published book?

Haha, I hope so. And I hope if I warn enough about how different it is, nobody will be shocked when it starts going up. :D

Oh yeah, I've heard about them too. I like that they have a bunch of different formats to read/download stuff in; that's really nice. For self-pub I was mostly looking at them and createspace.

Shades of Gray (lololol that title is kind of funny in relation to this post) by Brooke McKinley. Granted I don't read a lot of published m/m books (about twenty, at this point, a lot of the "big name" authors) but it's one I keep reading over and over again and don't regret buying at all.

Congratulations on finishing the draft!! I loved reading it and if it gets published I will definitely be buying it! I also look forward to the sequel, even if it is a change of tone, I feel that as long as it's you writing it, I'll be sure to love it!

Thank you! If it doesn't get real published I'll probably self-pub it somehow, even if it's just with smashwords or something similar. :)

I like how the story ends on a hopeful note, that just maybe they'll be together beyond the end of the school year. At least they're willing to try it out. Of course things change, that's just the nature of life. I get the feeling if things do work out through the summer, graduation or a job offer or even their family may break them apart.

I'll be looking forward to this sequel of yours. :) I'm hoping that Sloane also gets her happy ending.

Yeah the ending is kind of a HFN rather than HEA, but thattttt's kind of how I end everything. :D And the sequel is 7/8 years later so there's lots that happens in the interim. :)

Congratulations for sticking with this story for so long and finally finishing it!

I can't believe it's actually over, after all this time. This was the first story of yours that I ever read, back in 2009 when there were only five or six chapters. In fact, I do believe this was the first ever story I read on FictionPress, so this is all even more meaningful and stuff. I'm kind of sorry to see it end; I'll miss Vaan and Saul and all their whacky college escapades. The sequel sounds very interesting though, so at least there's that to look forward to. :)

Best of luck if you do decide to try and get it published. I definitely think you should give it a go. :)

Thank you~!

I can't believe it's over either! Well, not totally over for me because I'm going to edit/clean it up so I'm still technically working with it, but it's still kind of weird not to think about updates, especially after working on it for eight years. :D

Thank you!

Besides the sequel I plan on doing a little one-shot about Todd and what was going on with him during all this (and more about his ~romantic liaisons ~), but both won't be for a while! And if I do get this one (or anything) published I'll definitely be letting people know!

Haha it's probably better to let people imagine what it looks like for themselves. Although if anyone wanted to somehow make it I wouldn't stop them. :)
