Can someone please provide me with evidence of Barack Obama's misogyny - legislation, comments, policies, etc.? I keep on hearing about it, but somehow I'm not seeing it. I am not saying it's not there, but I would really like someone to point me towards some examples ( Read more... )

i voted for novick too i hope he runs again as well. Calling Obama guilty of misogyny is pointless and spiteful if they can find evidence on him i bet theyd find misogynist evidence on mother theresa too

Didn't you hear that Obama used the word sweetie? He clearly hates women. Plus, he's preventing Hillary from returning to the White House, something only someone who hate women would do that.

I'm disappointed about Novick as well.

Well, if you really want to wade through the muck, try googling Obama + misogyny. I think it comes up because he's black, and folks who are inclined that way, look for some kind of bigotry besides racism to accuse him of.

In a way, I'm sorta-glad that Clinton hasn't dropped out yet, because the race is revealing some interesting (if unsavory) stuff about the electorate.

Ahh, for some reason I figured asking my LJ pals to provide would be faster than Google - which will present, undoubtedly, hundreds and hundreds of hits - which will each need to be investigated to get a good impression of which way they spin. After a couple of days, I should be able to balance the scale to some semblance of a rough truth.

I was just being lazy, I guess. My apologies.

Actually, your question prompted me to do that exact google search, because I hadn't been paying enough attention to notice any accusations of sexism. Just skimming the first page of hits convinced me there was a little smoke there, but no fire.

At the rally, drenched in the good vibe, he did concede that he'd made a few mistakes in badmouthing his current opponent. I got the feeling that he'd figured out there's very little he can say about her that will help his campaign, and lots he could say to shoot himself in the foot.

Between the two of them, though, I'd say that she's been far more guilty of talking shit than he has. Not that she's sounded particularly misandronous, or racist, but just that she's got a very low opinion of John Q. Public and what we'll believe.

Looking at the google hits, the most damning evidence I could get, was him talking about her metaphorical 'claws', making her sound like a cat or a harpy. From what I've heard her say, it's an apt metaphor, maybe that means I'm as misogynist as he is. Anyway, I ( ... )

i feel bad for obama having to kiss hils' supporters arses, hoping that they'll still vote for him when she inevitably drops out.

him saying along the lines of she has really broken some stereotypes/boundaries, as if a black man isn't breaking as many boundaries as an old b*tch. come on now, obama. we see through you.

vote the party, everyone. don't go to independant/green on this one.

Thank you for those links - and I'm still not seeing any examples of OBAMA HIMSELF being misogynistic. The rest of the country - oh, absolutely. Loads and loads of that. I have been shaken to the core by the appalling and aggressive sexism that this political season has brought about. And yet I am searching, without finding, evidence to shore up the claim that OBAMA himself is misogynist, or has expressed misogynistic statements.

In the first link above "Everything... Kindergarten", they talk about "having tea" or "being a wife" as being sexually coded statements - but they don't actually CITE him saying those exact things. Nor does the piece that the blogger's post was originally taken from. If he said those specific things, why would they have been edited out, when they could have the specific inflammatory power to take him down several pegs?

I still fail to understand. But I haven't had time to do my Google blitz yet. I am, after all, at work.
