At the very least, it was fascinating to see the reaction in fandom in general - it was really quite cool. Still, I totally didn't need that, and between having to spend hours friends-locking a bunch of fanfic posts, and waiting for a phone call/visit that never happened, it cost me my evening, and a chance to go out and support a musician friend. I'm a little annoyed about that.
