the songs that just stay on Draco

There's a bunch of songs that I find that I just automatically keep on my iPod (which I refresh the songs on at least once a week, sometimes more often - it's only a gig and I never have that many songs on it, ever - on shuffle the same songs come up way too often for that). I was going to do a "top whatever many songs of the year" even though ( Read more... )

Your iPod is much funkier than mine. Mine is all melancholy songs and for the most part achingly poignant, to the point that it pisses me off if I'm not in an 'epic' mood and I have to shut it off. Mine's full of acoustic renditions of happier songs, demos and B-sides from scene-boys crooning about lost love and scarred wrists, and dead idols that I can barely bear to think of without tearing up.

Yeah, I hear ya - that used to be the way I was a lot of the time, but I just can't take that sort of thing full-time - I am far too seriously depressed for it to be healthy for me to listen to really sad music all the time. There are several of my favorite albums that I just don't listen to almost ever because they scare me and fill me with profound, unshakable sadness. "Herculean" is the name of the song. TGTB&TQ is the name of the project/band/lark...

I am dying to hear more of it, but not dying enough to pay $300 for an imported copy of the super-limited-release actual thing.
