Aw yeah. Finally got my copy of the LABYRINTH novelization (only a week later than expected). Bada bing. I'm king of the world. The entire craptacular morning just evaporated like bumblebee piss off a lightbulb and now I feel all sunshiny inside. Now, only time will tell if I did something really silly by spending $30 on a cheap, crumbling ( Read more... )

Oh dear. :)

I finally finished reading LABYRINTH last night... it's not quite as good as the movie, nor is it as good as the novelization of THE DARK CRYSTAL, written by the same guy. He uses an alarming amount of passive voice and it got on my nerves slightly. But it does illuminate some interesting stuff - like Sarah's total wackjob OCD-ness, her extreme verbal abuse of Hoggle, and the fact that Jareth keeps trying to kiss her (and at the end when he's messing with her mind, he puts his hand up to her lips).

I need to make a new Jareth LJ icon so, so bad.

You know what? I have never seen Labyrinth. Tuff Turf, however, I have seen about 100 times.

psyche. But seriously, if you love David Bowie's "area" you owe it to yourself to see it. Or if you like Jennifer Connolly in her jailbait phase... or Henson Workshop anything... My personality was heavily altered by that film; certainly when I saw it for the first time, it was as though my most secret internal mental state was suddenly made into a movie, with everything I thought about, wanted, and thought was beautiful and fascinating RIGHT THERE. In David Bowie's tights. :)

(only somewhat kidding.)
