Because he played Wesley Crusher. I mean, I UNDERSTAND this kind of transferrence of character to actor - to this day I can't stand Annette Bening, because she was so amazingly convincing as the most rotten backstabbing cunt-fart in THE GRIFTERS. I haven't a clue as to what the actress herself is like (she did nab Warren Beatty, which might have meant something back in the day when he was hot) but I can't stand to watch her in anything.
Still, Wesley? He was irritating at worst. But I started watching ST:TNG because Wil Wheaton was on the show, and I thought he did a really good job in the part, and I never, ever hated Wesley. Ever. I am a tiny minority there, I know.

Also, Hamill is hilarious and does an amazing job voicing The Joker on the Batman Beyond episodes.
