I really love how, in the vein of the remixed movie trailers that, through editing and music, make a movie seem like something that it totally isn't, the new ad for CAPOTE that makes it look like Capote was some kind of psycho serial killer. Then again, I don't know, I haven't seen it; maybe it actually is like a sort of literary/biopic version of

The film does explore something (quietly) monstrous about Truman Capote -- but certainly not serial-killerish. Just an exploitive element made worse by the gravity of the subject matter he was mining for inspiration. Overall, I consider the movie to be another instance where all the excitement and high praise elevated my expectations, but the movie was just "pretty good."
