I am pleased to report that the new, Nigel-Goodrich-produced Paul McCartney album contains some good head-bobbing gems. No need for me to buy it - I'd listen three or four times and never touch it again. It's funny to listen to Nigel Goodrich, the king of complexity and humanizing the machine, struggling to build up Paul's self-played simplicity. ( Read more... )

I always wondered who could play the extraordinarily skinny Daniel if movies were ever made from your novels, of which I enjoyed "Wounds" the best. It dawned on me that of all people, Marc Anthony, aka the current Mr. J.Lo, might be a suitable pick. He's got acting experience, most recently in "Man on Fire" with Denzel Washington. He looks much like the character you described, and although he's Puerto Rican, he might be able to adapt. After all, from what I read, Daniel isn't exactly "just German" anymore, but rather a "man of the world." It's just my opinion, but I am a fan and just thought I would throw it out to you.

it's an astute thought, but Marc Antony is wrong, wrong, wrong IMO. He's too old, he's just not intensely sexy can't-take-your-eyes-off-him enough (and he's not all that skinny; Ricari is skinny, but Daniel's got more of an Olympic swimmer's body).

Daniel's got to be played by a white guy; I'd hate to see that lovely dark Latin skin powdered up to look vampiric - one Antonio Banderas-in-shitty-wig-and-white-makeup is way more than enough for the entire history of cinema.

Yeah, You have a point. I guess I just misunderstood the build of Daniel. However, I shudder to think of who they'd put into the story, "they" being Hollywood casting directors, producers, and studios. It was stretching the point to put Antonio Banderas into "Interview", and stretching it further to put "All-American Boy" Tom Cruise as Lestat. I think my fear is "...and starring Ashton Kutcher as Daniel!"

...or worse...

...say, do you even get a say in those rights contracts, whenever they buy your intellectual property?
