As most of you may know, I am a pale, pink-ish person. This sometimes causes other pinkish persons to see me as their allies in some fatuous battle against brownish persons. Race is either far too complicated, or idiotically simple. Mostly, it's idiotically simple. People see brown skin, they make assumptions, such as "only speaks Spanish, won't understand my insults." I've seen people apply this to, yes, Mexican immigrants, but also Brasilian immigrants, people of Mexican extraction whose families have been in the US for ages, and, in extreme cases, Greeks and Malaysians. Really, I'm not the one acting like a kid with a box of Brand X crayons. It's the rest of the world, I'm just calling it like I see it.

Oh I completely agree with you, but it still ammuses me.

What I meant with the crayons comment is that they'd all have vague color names: pinkish, greenish, purplish, yellowish... eh, there's probably no set like that anyway. It's been a long time since I had any crayons.
