Phase Two. Maybe?

Monday starts phase 2 in NYC, only if our numbers haven't gone up. As the state starts to open up I'm getting anxious and nervous. As we were in lockdown, I knew everyone in my family was safe but now that things are opening up I'm not so sure. Youngest son texted me today to say that he and GF got the COVID test and it was negative. Once work ( Read more... )

Here in MO we've gone into phase 3 even though our numbers haven't steadily declined and very few people out and about are wearing masks or practicing social distancing. I hate having to be worried about the people I love, too, especially when so few people here seem to care. Stay safe.

I have to say that here in NYC people, for the most part, are being cautious. In my neighborhood, all the stores that are open have signs on the door saying you can't enter without a mask.

Stay safe.

I am a little bit hopeful for New York since our numbers have been good and they are opening up according to CDC criteria and not rushing it. Hopefully people will continue to be careful and wear masks to protect others.

Yes, the governor and mayor are not rushing and I am very grateful for their caution.

Yes, he works for MLB, he actually works in the replay room. He and a team sometimes have to travel to different ballparks to check on equipment. I'm concerned about the travel.

He loves his job, so that's a good thing.

WOW! That's the MLB hot seat! I love that he loves it. Now I shall think of you both with every relay decision. That's such fun.

Since you are such a big baseball fan I will PM you a MLB clip that was shown in 2014 to explain the replay room. In the clip is my son. I am PMing you this clip because it can't be shared publicly.

It does sound as if, having been hit so hard, NY is being sensible about relaxing things slowly - but I recognise that feeling of anxiety and nervousness as I felt it, too, as we began to come out of lockdown.

How very thoughtful of your son to visit now, when he knows he is clear of the infection, even if you may not see him again for a while.

Our governor and mayor are being very careful!

It is worrying - I would be the same about my boys. At least there is some treatment now that helps anyone who has the most serious of symptoms, and so many people I know have had really mild cases, so there's that. I hope all continues to be well with you and the family :)
