Well, I have anxiety attacks every now and then that the Dr. won't give me anything for. She is against anything potentially addictive. My sleeping was sooo bad though, I couldn't get myself to fall asleep but then when it was time to wake up, I wouldn't. So...she finally gave me a very tiny strict prescription.

No. My doctor is against anything that could be potentially addictive to anyone. I'm thinking of getting a second opinion. This is getting old...

Oh my. Your MD needs to hit the text books. Trazodone is non habit forming. The risk in Ambien is actually higher. Definitely get a second opinion. Ambien is not for chronic insomnia, it's for short term relief. Insomnia is serious and affects all aspects of your life - many MDs don't take it seriously enough. Yours seems to fit the bill. It's your life and it's your right to chose who's in charge of your healthcare. Believe me doctors are very human and some are very, um, not so good :)

I've had GAD diagnosed since 98 and the only thing they give me is an antidepressant, which is fine but sometimes anxiety attacks interfere with me being able to go about my day. It would also be nice to have a few pills in case of a bad attack. It frustrates me that there is medicine to help with this.
