So this month, I told myself that I wouldn't spend on lolita fashion... and so I did the next logical thing and spent it all on board games. Haha!

How I startedBoard games are one of my favourite hobbies. I started off playing chess with my dad when I was growing up. The day I finally beat him was a day I will cherish forever. When the internet ( Read more... )

I do enjoy board games, but I hate learning to play them because I feel like it always takes me a long time! I've always thought I'd like to have board game nights when I have a place of my own, though. When I was in college, I used to always play Bang! and The Resistance with my neighbors and it was SO much fun! We used to play Mafia too--I guess secret identity games were our thing. I remember those days so fondly.

The fam likes to play Saboteur and (I like to play Sleeping Queens - which really is a kiddy game, but you can play in 10 minutes and sometimes that's all I have time for ( ... )

Munchkin is a nice game, but it wears off after repeated playthroughs. King of Tokyo is pretty fun! Remember Ryan got the 'friend to children' card and we were laughing about it for ages?

Aww dear, maybe they think its awkward to play with someone they consider their mum?

And you finally took Star Wars Risk out of the box! Congrats!

We really need to meetup dear! I miss you!

Nicholas Ryan, the one who games with your hubby. Very tall, half Chinese guy, doesn't wear glasses. We played King of Tokyo at the JE house, the men drank whiskey and both of us drank sherry.

*hugs* dear. I'll see you at the steamboat for Ebi right?

I love a game called Labyrinth. It's quite old and for children and adults, but loads of fun. We also play a Supernatural version of Clue. I also like Munchkin, Apples to Apples and Cards against Humanity. A new game we got at Christmas is Cyanide and Happiness, but I've only played it with my family. My son's friend is developing a game similar to Munchkin, but with more game play to it and it is loads of fun. I hope someday he can get it developed. It's not a board game but I love playing Farkle and many different card games. My computer game of choice is Diablo 3. Diablo has eaten my brain for over 15 years.

I went to look at the reviews on BoardGameGeek for Labyrinth, it seems like a pretty fun game! I might consider getting one if I find it for cheap.

Hope your son's friend's game comes out smoothly.

And wow, 15 years!

Woo board games! I've played about half of those with my group or a friend's group I'm occasionally invited to. We usually end up playing the same few games over and over, so I'm definitely gonna look into some of these to see if I can find some new ones to fit us :D

Also, I may have to set up an account on that site...

Nice! Do they have FLGS (friendly local game shops) where you are? Here there are a few and you can try out some games before you buy them too!

I usually use BGG to keep track of games I've bought haha

I know the comic book shop I go to hosts games, but it's usually just Magick and DnD afaik. Maybe I'll see if they or one of the other local shops has more!

Btw, just added you on BGG :)
