*the wind is high, blowing Janos's hair and robes as he sets the Dreamberry down on a rock. He doesn't seem to realize it's recording, as it's obvious that the device has been set down sideways, at an angle, on a rock. This will reveal that he's currently somewhere on the floating mountain ( Read more... )

[Well well. Seemed his ludicrously optimistic ancestor was still alive and well. Still that isn't what captures his attention as he explores the outer regions of Somarium where the city meets the desert.]

So that's how our kind used to build their wondrous structures hmm?

[None of the condescending tone. He's genuinely interested. He also doesn't care that the video might not have been intended.]

...Kain?

*he turns. Oh. The Dreamberry. He comes closer and picks it up.* It is true we used our abilities to generate much of our basic architecture after we were cursed. But none of us did so alone. It can be extremely taxing.

*he chuckles a little* And yet, I feel secure on this mountain. Perhaps it is in my blood, to feel so vulnerable on the flat ground. In Uschtenheim, my home was an old ruin of my kind...a smaller city. Earthquakes had crumbled most of what was not part of the mountain itself. But its altitude made it welcoming.

*Oh. The Dreamberry was on. He must have accidentally pressed a button with his claws.* ...it is not entirely magic. It is the power of the mind itself that moves objects. But something like this requires much concentration and focus. ...and I am old and tired. *he chuckles a little.* We have not met before, have we?

*he hesitates for a moment at the name.* Ah...forgive my rudeness. A fellow vampire from the same world as myself as the same name you do. Mine is Janos Audron.

That looks like far more effort than it's worth.

[Is he laughing at you? Yes, he's laughing.]

*...did he...hit a button? That is Vincent's voice. He looks back at the Dreamberry.* .....A home is never too much of an effort to pursue.

Not often. larger structures, such as temples and citadels. But that was done with many of us together. I neither have tools nor anyone else capable of assisting.
