You know that much talked-of but near-mythical moment where one's collected themes, characters and scene snippets - ideas that have haunted, rather formlessly, for months or even years at a time - have  just suddenly solidified and materialized into something writable, as if by magic? Yeah, that's happened to me. Putting them into book form is often like the whole round peg square hole bit, though.... Just when you think it's perfect, some plot snarl rises up with a continuity error or something.

Yeah, I'm expecting those snarls - and in a way looking forward to them, as I haven't had anything sufficiently robust to really craft something detailed out of in a long time.

I can easily imagine how, as these things grow in scope, they get exponentially messier and trickier to contain. Right now, though, the number of basic elements within the story is small enough that I'm just having a good time fitting them together in different ways and seeing what I can build. I don't even really know what the breadth of the entirety will be yet - it could well expand or contract.
