Jeffree vs Obama

Today, Jeffree Star posted a blog responding to Obama's new presidency. He thinks that Obama is the same liar in a new package. Not going to follow though in any promises, not going to change our country, ect...ect... ONe of the main points that Star made was that people assume, that just because Obama seems to be a good guy, and trying to help out ( Read more... )

Yeah, because I totally trust some random person who posts provocative pictures of himself on the Internet to tell me what I should think about politics.

But I do agree with some of what you're saying. Although, I'm positive that Obama wouldn't veto a bill that allowed gay marriage. IMO, he's fine with gay marriage, but he's trying to appeal to both sides. It's not like he could have lost the liberal vote! But maybe that's just wishful thinking. It's just that I see him as a rational person, and it's just common sense to me that people would be for gay marriage. *sigh*

And am I the only one is being ruined by all those mentions of political RPF on fandom!secrets? I am very pointedly making sure not to read any, but f!s keeps mentioning it! *cry* And it's not like it's actually making me ship it, but when I see them, I remember f!s and freak out.

I very much doubt Obama will be legalizing gay marriage, unfortunately. According to him, it should be the states that do so -- they are, after all, responsible for every other marriage-related law. Personally, I think that's rather disappointing, but as Crystal pointed out, he needs to appeal to Americans.

"Disappointing" because doing it state-by-state will take forever. And look at what happened in California.

What makes me very sad is that human rights are forgotten as politics are prioritized. Of course, I'm not saying this is Obama's fault. It's the people's and the democratic system's. And here is where all the flaws of democracy are underlined: Everyone votes. Idiots too. And they cancel all the intelligent (be that conservative or liberal, cough, mostly the latter) votes; the votes of people who care.
