The books and the movies

I recently started re-reading the Harry Potter series. I've never realized that, I don't picture the characters the same though. When I was 7 years old and reading these books, everyone looked different. I can't even remember how they looked in my mind back then. I just lost them all. I never complained about the movies before, but now I'm pissed

Eh, for me, I sometimes see the actors, sometimes not. I think I just usually don't see characters at all. I'm not very good at visualization; I just mostly concentrate on the words and ideas. I never have a fully fleshed-out character when I read, but I do have general ideas. I don't think the movies have affected me too much with the major characters (e.g. I don't see Dan as Harry - although I think I usually imagine his voice as Harry's), but like McGonagall and Hagrid are pretty much Maggie Smith and Robbie Coltrane.

I feel cheated because my memory is so terrible. I really don't remember how I felt when I first read the books. :(
