Why Bounen no Xam'd almost missed the mark

So I've been raving about Bounen no Xam'd ever since it started airing and I was completely in love with it because it was BONES and they can't go wrong, right?

But from about episode 14/15 until episode 23, I didn't know what the studio was thinking. Everything was just suddenly so dull and I didn't care about anything or what anyone did (save ( Read more... )

Im with you on this one. Its still has one of the best OP songs!!! It definately went downhill from there and then it wasn't just enough time to for the show to redeem itself. And end was very WTF, Akiyuki coming back wasn't emotional or BAM, Im here, tada!!! It was just very meh...and it started off SOOOOOOOOO good.

I think this one is better haha. xDDD

I agree about Akiyuki's return. It was so random where he ended up in the first place... they should have kept Akiyuki and Nakiami together. D:

Yeah, relationships were ALL over the place in the series, they also ruined a LOT of things. Captain became worthless and her thing with Nakiami was sometimes lesbian and sometimes motherly...Raido was worthless in the end too - he really didn't do anything for Akiyuki, why did they bring him in the first place? His photography thing went nowhere...Ugh. There are SO many things wrong with the series...

AGREEEEEED. AHHH NERD RAGEEE!

Not to mention how the postal ship itself became completely useless and how the war is irrelevant to anything and how Akiyuki's parents are REALLY ANNOYING... and how Kakisu is the most boring villain ever, if he even is the villain.

i think in episode 8 or whatever we were at in club, its pretty obvious that furuichi now has an excuse to openly hate akiyuki now instead of sitting idly by and watching the girl of his dreams pine over the lost boy.

as i remember it, in the first episode of normal life, their friendship is mainly established as within the structure of school and once school is gone, he clearly is happy that the dude is gone (except that he still cant hook up with the girl)

anyway, i havent seen the whole thing. i may end up agreeing with you and maybe not, but ill try to remember to let you know when i finish :p

Yeah and I guess that I don't like that because it makes Furuichi look bad and cheapens his character a bit. Their friendship is not really established at all... you never find out anything substantial or interesting about them. All you know is that the three were friends. I think for a good 3-person friendship dynamic, they should all be close friends and from what I saw (again, there's so little information to go off of), I thought they were pretty good friends before the bus incident. But apparently, with the way that Furuichi acted, I was wrong. The Lelouch and Suzaku friendship from Code Geass was handled better than Akiyuki and Furuichi. Also, I think the 3-person relationship in Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo is one of the best I've seen recently.
