Ties Behind

Funny; I expected this to sound gloomier than it turned out.

Sifting through some college folders a few weeks ago, I found an old letter.  One of mine.  It was one I'd written so carefully, but never had the chance to send.  I know why I held onto it.  I can remember the day I tucked it into this beat-up old Star Wars folder.  I always kept thinking ( Read more... )

It's interesting what we find when we dig back into the strata of our lives years ago. A month or two ago I happened upon my own voice mail saved logs, curious what was in them because I almost never save voice mail. I found the phone call that, when I called back on it, led to me having the job I have now. I found some random phone message from Barbara - maybe I saved it just to hear her voice, some time ago, then forgot about it. It's amazing what time does - time, that greatest of all agents. I guess in our lives, it's turned more home-hearths into unfamiliar places than turned strange countries into homes ( ... )

Just don't completely disappear, Teek! I know we don't talk all that much now, but I still like hearing from you.

I miss the heyday of forums. Forums are still my preferred social media sites. That's probably why I'm still on FFO/S, because there's just not a community still around quite like that one. When I started posting on forums I felt like I could actually get to know people. And I have! You guys will forever be a part of my life. Unlike Facebook and other social sites in which it only seems to be for people you know that I don't really care to talk to unless it's on Facebook. Like say people from high school who never talked to you while you were in high school, but want to be your friend now? Pfffffffffft.

But, yeah, please keep in touch! Even if it's just sporadic updates on LJ. :)

Clearing out the last of the weeds is rather cathartic, isn't it? Cherish the good times, and now you have more room for new flowers. It'll make everything that much prettier.

*hugs*

I've been so out of touch that I don't even know what FFS is. :|

I also have not logged in to my old online haunts in a long time. Mostly because life is so busy now, it's hard to believe I had the free time back then to spam all day. I miss everyone, of course, but there's only so much one can do in a day.

Letting things go, decisively, is much healthier than just letting it drop off, as I have. I haven't made a decision like that regarding the forums, mostly because I don't WANT to let them go, but I fear time will make that decision for me unless I act otherwise.

Regardless, please do still keep in touch--you are one of my most awesome friends, even though we don't get to talk as often as we used to!
