Interesting thoughts about the metaphorical meanings of zompires!

People think that Buffy is going to hook up with Dowling? Why? She hasn't expressed any kind of romantic interest, or even particular interest in him, and he has been acting as a matchmaker for her and Spike (which was really weird in this issue, what with the battle and zompires and Cheung being caught by them). People just seen to think that any generic-looking male introduced in the story has to be Buffy's next boyfriend?

I really don't think Buffy was rejecting Spike - she never said she wanted 'normal', that's what he thinks she wants, and she said she'd be running away from him if she wanted normal - which she's obviously not doing, since she moved in with him. Ergo, she doesn't want "normal". I think she's just started to realize that.

I don't blame him...he doesn't get to see Buffy smile a lot...and I'm sure he rather see her smile than get nothing but her tears.That's because Buffy hasn't been smiling a lot, period. It's a bit weird to complain that she only ( ... )

I have no idea why people think Buffy is going to get with Dowling per the actual text (as I said in my review, personally it feels like friendship rather than romance). I'd say people are going by the the track record of multiple love interests per season, usually minor ones mixed with the big one. I mean, it can be interpreted as such but for me it doesn't make sense only because of how spuffy has come along so far in this season ( ... )
