Another Weekend in Harrisburg

Jun 19, 2007 09:30

Now that I have somewhat recovered from the weekend, I can actually write about it!...

I finally left Pittsburgh Friday afternoon at 1pm, and it was quite invigorating when I went through the EZ Pass lane (Go EZ Pass!), bore to the right, and got onto 76 East.  I take this as a sign that I am very ready to move from Pittsburgh.  Less than a year ( Read more... )

I didn't know you were toying with the idea of moving to NYC--me too. I'm here now, though, for at least another six months to finish my novel, which has one more flashback left, plus the ending and a polish.

Then, I think I'll just go get an apartment in Mid-town and start giving blowjobs on the subway. Oh, sure, there may be easier ways to get a literary agent, but a girl has to play to her strengths, right? :)

Keep me in the loop on your efforts.

Oh, and I love the nicknames people come up with for "Straw Manor". My personal favorite is "Disgraceland".

Yes...I'm definitely toying with the idea. A certain Bubba that has me wrapped around his finger lives there. Also is a perfect time to start pursuing that elusive doctorate. Perhaps another strength you can use is your ability to FOIL. ;-)

Right--blowjobs and the FOIL method. Watch out, New York-headquartered publisihing multinationals. :)

What would be the doctorate be in? And is the "hot bubba" that slightly older bearded gentleman you met in Harrisburg that one time? Or is this somebody else?

Ray, it was nice to finally meet, short time that it was. I wish I would have known earlier it was you and I would have crawled out of the pool pit to chat.

My partner and I are also thinking about making the move to NYC, probably Brooklyn (Ray is from there) or Queens though, don't think I could afford Manhattan.

Looking forward to seeing you again at one of the HBg events or maybe next time I am back home at the Burgh!

That's quite alright! :-) Yes, my current BF lives in Queens...part of the reason I'm looking to move there! If you ever make it back to Pittsburgh, let me know...would be cool to hang out!

Ray, will definitely be in touch. I know for sure I will be in Pgh the weekend closest to July 19 which is my nephew's b-day. We'll have to do something when I am there!
