Mom and I just got back from the worst kind of house call, a visit to someone we may not see again in this lifetime. Often death can be a beautiful part of life, but just as often it is the ugliest, saddest part of a person's life. We just experienced the latter

I'm really sorry. And I know how you feel, because I've watched this disease consume some of the nicest people I've ever met, from family members to high school friends. If it teaches us anything, that is to cherish the people in your life. Because life is short and nothing is certain...
