You're welcome! I wish this community was more active like it used to be. It's a shame people don't post here anymore.

I am a fairly new fan of his, but I've seen almost all of his movies and TV shows and appearances so I'd love to chat with other fans here. We could start discussion threads, if anyone's interested, like what people think of him starring in the American Broadchurch "remake." I am sure we would be more rational about it than people on Facebook.

I'm excited about the remake because it stars David and to have him back on my tv every week would be great. I admit I haven't bothered to read the comments on Facebook or at Entertainment Weekly (or any other entertainment site) because they're usually really negative when British shows are "remade."

I can't imagine David signing up for something that would be sub-par. I don't understand why they're doing it "American-style" in the first place, but surely it will be very good. One of the producers, Anya Epstein, was a producer of the show Homicide: Life on the Street from the '90s. I used to watch that show and it was one of the grittiest and most realistic of all cop dramas at the time. Think The Wire, but on network TV, so they could only do so much. The characters on it were very compelling. I looked her up on IMDB since Chris Chibnall tweeted her name in the announcement.

I wonder if this isn't David's attempt to break-out in America. It makes more sense for him to do this than waste his time during pilot season again, like with Rex is Not Your Lawyer.
