During a commercial break of Doctor Who there was a commercial that announced Broadchurch will be airing on BBCA starting on August 7. We have a long time to wait but at least now we all know  it will be aired in America.

There are a lot of F-bombs in it so it's going to be edited.

a lot of F-bombs in it

There are? By what standard? I guess I'm so used to cussing in the TV shows I watch I don't even notice them. It is how adults speak. Hard to believe that 40 years after George Carlin's "7 dirty words" we still have to censor language in American media.

I don't get BBCA anymore so I did not realize they censored. They edit everything from the UK then? I don't think I've seen any British telly without at least "shit" said in it. I visited there 20 years ago and remember being surprised to hear "shit."

BTW, the BBCA promo is 16 seconds long and very disappointing because they don't even mention very recent double BAFTA winner Olivia Colman. Of course they mention David and Arthur, because obviously Americans know squat about UK actors other than those in Doctor Who.

Sorry, Colman won me as a new fan by being the epitome of graciousness at the BAFTAs so it makes me a little upset to hear her get ignored, also when she is the most crucial character to the program. Sigh.

Anyone here seen Twenty Twelve, other than clips? I need to find it. David narrates and Colman won one of her BAFTAs for it.

Twenty Twelve is available in Region 1 DVDs as a set that includes both seasons (referred to as The Complete Series), and can be found on Amazon or Barnes & Noble's websites. Or, if you don't mind a used copy, check out the EBay affiliate of Half dot com. BBCA released it on DVD back in January of this year.

Some episodes are funnier than others, but that probably has to do with one's sense of humor. The scary part is I swear some of it did hold true with the Olympics, particularly the lack of late night Tube service for the opening ceremonies, which caused the ceremony to be cut short at the last minute so attendees could get home that night.

(I had seen it when it aired overseas, courtesy of internet fairies, and again when BBCA showed it here last summer.)

Just a bit of trivia...David supposedly recorded the narration for the first season being directed over the phone from a recording studio in New Mexico when he was filming Fright Night back in 2010. So, you could joke that he called it in. ;)

Yeah, I had posted in February that BBCA was going to be showing this. I still haven't heard a date so...

It was so good. I really want my mom to see this as she'll love it.

If anyone else hears a date, share with the rest of the class!!

BBCA ran a very short trailer during Doctor Who on Saturday night for Broadchurch. They are going to start airing the series on August 7th.

I believe there is a copy of it on their You Tube channel, as I've seen it on You Tube via Twitter links as well.
