I should have more to comment on when I'm less sleepy, but all I can think of right now is the hella awkward failed!seduction scene with Becca and Hardy in episode 5 (OH, HARDY, LET ME LOVE YOU! YOU CAN RELAX WITH ME! *ahem* Sorry...), the very, very sad death of Jack Marshall (oh, how I cried), the burgeoning friendship between Ellie and Hardy (I want to squish them together and make them kiss!), how (uncomfortably) hot Arthur Darvill looks dressed as a man of the cloth, how obscenely hot Vicky McClure will forever and always be (even if I'm on the fence about her character in this), how I love all the accents in the show, and how utterly confused I still am about who actually carried out the murder, but it's all so AWESOME, I just don't care going along for the ride!
[imagine Tennant 'Barrowman!!' gif, but with 'CHINBALLS!' instead]
Yep, episode 5 made me think that dinner in episode 4 was worth more than merely seeing Hardy smile and laugh. He and "Miller" are gaining a little more respect for one another.
I was bothered by Tom riding his skateboard down the street at the beginning of episode 5 because it made me think that maybe the boy in the CCTV was Tom and not Danny. Tom is hiding something. And Hardy telling Miller that Tom "did right by Danny," gave me a cold chill. Then Miller's sister, something is up with her too, so I think there's some connection between Miller's family and Danny's death, but I have no idea what.
I loved poor Beth throwing a tantrum at Becca's hotel. I was cheering for her. I hope her and Mark make up though.
Hardy, Hardy, Hardy, you awkward, lonely man. Looking forward to more awkwardness though. Tennant's physical transformations for his characters are so distinct. He may not be a buff action hero type, but he's an exceptional physical as well as voice actor. He's the complete package, yeah, I'll intend the pun.
Ever since the scenes of deletion back in episode 1 (?), I've been yelling at the screen for them to take a look at the computers and phones, while being unsure as to what possible reason could come up for them to look at what is apparently Tom's computer.
I hadn't even thought about it being Tom on the CCTV. Hmmm.

Yes! In one of the commentaries, the director for that episode said it was almost like having a different actor there. It really is remarkable how he changes himself.
Brain essplodes and blows a gasket!!! :D I have heard of no such things existing. Were they audio? Or video? Or were they print? Inquiring minds want to know, namely mine!!!!!!
And anyone know what network it would be on in the US? It won't be on BBCA will it, since it's on ITV in the UK? I don't quite understand what the difference is between those "networks," not sure what else to call them.
It needs to be a Masterpiece Mystery series on PBS. PBS needs another boost like Downton Abbey gives it. Our local affiliate is always barking about how much funding they are short.
Yeah, but things are weird with BBCA and ITV. BBCA aired Law & Order: UK (another Chibnall show), for example, and that was an ITV show. :)
As for the differences, I don't know too much about them being an American, but from watching tons and tons of Brit telly, I think the differences are things like the BBC channels (telly and radio) are publicly funded with a license fee that Brits pay to watch them and channels like ITV are commercial (and even have commercial breaks during the shows, unlike BBC shows) networks, not funded by the populace, but through the adverts (like US telly). I could be wrong though. Still, I have noticed interesting competition with such channels, especially with who puts out the edgier material (usually ITV, but Channel 4, especially E4 -- a youth-focused network -- is giving them both a run for their money, IMO).
I'm loving this show, Tennant is amazing the way he disappears inside a character like this one and everyone else is solid. I was glad to see the
