Recovery question

Apr 28, 2011 14:02

Is Recovery based on a true story?  Who is it based on?  I've been looking around the internet and can't find an answer.  I know one of the DT fans here will know the answer!

Thanks!

Hi

Little bit random but I'd never heard of this before this post and looked it up yesterday... Thanks for pointing me in the direction of such an amazing piece of work.

Although please, David, stop making me cry!

You know, I have to admit, of all the non-Who stuff DT has done, Recovery has to be one of my favorites. It's absolutely compelling and really veers away from the "Hallmark Channel Disease of the Week" kind of movie where everybody lives and everybody smiles. I like that the ending is not tied up in a bow.

With a few exceptions, nothing else he has done has drawn me in in quite that way, Some of his other stuff has kind of left me 'meh', especially (most of) SF - not that he wasn't outstanding in it, but the overall effect? Meh. IMHO. (Please - don't shoot, don't shoot!) ;-)

LOL, don't worry, not going to shoot!

First ep of SF had me in floods of tears, but after that I'm with you. Although I love his performance in it, so in a way I don't really mind.

I've yet to see him in anything I haven't loved though. I will even sit through United at some point soon I'm sure, even if the footballness makes me groan.

Hee - RE: United. I have to make sure I can sit through the accent. It's a bit...uh, annoying? (Apologizes right now for saying that.) ;-) I'm not a big soccer fan either.
