Religious stupidity rears its ugly face again...

Oct 19, 2010 07:58

So recently I was contacted by one of my childhood friends over facebook. I figured "Hey, its about time we caught up on what each other has been doing" since its been years since we last spoke. To make a long story short, I was basically told that being gay was wrong and that I was wrong being such.

I'm now quite pissed off to the point where I ( Read more... )

Gah wish I would have thought of that lol.

I'm not going to loose sleep over it, but it definitely made my morning a bit sour.

Yeah I've been in a foul mood all morning so far because of this. I know it shouldn't bother me so much, but this is a person who I grew up with and thought I knew at least a little bit. Oh how I've been proven wrong in my thoughts...

I totally share your feelings on this, I personally have a very short list of things that get under my skin and this is most certainly one of them. I just cannot understand why someone would allow them selves to be so blinded in religion that they feel the need to condone another person because of their life choices.

*blushes* thanks for the kind words.

Guy seems like he's real "grateful" for how you helped him. I'm your husband and this infuriates me. It's a load of bullshit. If he was a real God fearing devout Christian he would love and accept you for who you are. Hence "love others as yourself" instead he is showing how narrow minded and fucking stupid most so-called Christians are. My entire family are devout Christians and they have never don't anything short of showing love and compassion to me thier gay son and any of my boyfriends they have met. They are real Christians not this sorry ass fuck. I'm done ranting now. *noses* Always remember, I love you even if I am a pain in the ass sometimes.

The main thing is I did nothing to warrant this kind of bullshit from someone, yet these types of "Christians" have show time and time again that they are on some kind of crusade to protect their ideals. Never mind the fact that we are all human when it comes down to it.

I never asked for "help" or to be saved, so for fuck sake leave me the hell alone and keep your bible thumping, cool aid drinking ass away from me

Yea alot of Christans think that proper outreach involves forcing ideals upon people. In reality thats not how it works, and nobody is ever going to react to being forced in a nice manner.
