Well well, what have we here? Three months into 2013 without my analysis of all things pertinent in 2012? For SHAME. I plan to remedy this ill right here and now, however. As usual, the first part will be me generally dishing on notable events that happened throughout the year, while the second half will be my show-and-tell of the best media I ( Read more... )

I still check in on LJ pretty regularly (even if my post quantity is even more rarefied than yours, hah; come to think of it, I'm kinda terrible at the whole 'social media' thing in general). It's kinda sad to hear that someone's made an ideological crusade out of Scarlet Blade of all things, but I guess there's no accounting for what people will take exception to; it's sadder still to hear that you've apparently been figuratively shuffled off into a corner to die at Aeria to die.

Anyway! I really, really enjoyed Portal (and its sequel, which was even better, IMHO), but there is an almost literal mountain of hype around it. I think it's a great game, but it's not going to CHANGE YOUR LIEF FOREVAR; it's just a game, after all, albeit an enjoyable one ( ... )

YES. TIME FOR G GUNDAM. You know you want Sailor Gundam and Horse Gundam!

I too totally fell in the "Librarian" mode, except I call in "The Collector." This was of course especially true of things I worried about going out of print (hello entire Bandai Library!). I also bought a number of OOP manga lots on Ebay (as I know you did as well), so there was definitely that aspect of it as well. Basically I threw all my money at Rightstuf last year.

I'm also kind of with you on the digital front. I'm totally not going to pay more than I would for a paperback just to "license" the file, and have it possibly stripped away at some later date. That just totally rubs me the wrong way. I'll probably follow physical media to the point where it becomes ridiculously prohibitively expensive.

And I'm totally going to have to borrow Xamd from you now. It sounds pretty interesting.
